How do I create a humat account?
To create a Humat account:
  1. Go to www.humat.org
  2. Click the blue “REGISTER” button at the top right of the screen.
  3. Login using a social media account (i.e. Facebook) or existing E-mail account and new password.
  4. Agree to the terms of service by checking the small box and click the blue “REGISTER” button below.
  5. Check your E-mail for a confirmation link.
  6. Follow E-mail directions to confirm account.
Note: you must be at least 13 years old to create a Humat account.
What names can I NOT use?
  • Offensive or suggestive words of any kind
  • Profiles are for individual use only. You can create a Page for a business, organization or idea.
  • Pretending to be anything or anyone isn’t allowed.
How do i delete my Humat account?
If you wish to delete your account you may contact us at info@Humat.org and with a brief description of the problem or reason you wish to delete your account and we will reply with the adequate steps to take in order to ensure that your concern is addressed.
how do I change or reset my password?
To change your password on Humat if you’re already logged in:

  1. Click  the drop-down in the top right corner of any Humat page and select Change Password.
  2. Edit Password.
  3. Click Save Changes.
If you’re logged in but have forgotten your password, follow the steps under Change Your Password then click Forgot your password? and follow the steps to reset it. Keep in mind that you’ll need access to the email associated with your account.

  2. Click Security and Login.
  3. Click Edit next to Change Password.
  4. Click Save Changes.

How does Humat protect my privacy and keep my information secure?
Humat uses encryption keys to keep all of its user’s passwords and information private. Encryption keys use complex algorithms to “scramble” your information to where it cannot be read. Humat also does not share or disclose user information that is not agreed upon in the terms of service. We also comply to with the EU’s GDPR in the case that any of our users live in the EU. How do i Know your organizations are reliable?
We aim to find organizations with legitimate and efficient resources across the world. Each organization within the United States has a verified Organization name, address, and Employer Identification Number (EIN). Our website database currently contains all U.S. Non-profit organizations and is updated every 6 to 12 months.

how do I claim my organization?
  1.  Login to your Humat account.
  2.  Click your name at the top right of the screen for the drop down menu.
    • Click “My Organization”
  3. Follow the prompts
    • Enter Name of Organization, Organization’s address, and Employer identification Number (EIN)
  4. Click “REGISTER” when finished.

Exact match of your organization Name, Address, and EIN are required to claim an organization.  This helps to limit the bogus claims to orangizations. We value each and everyone of our members and apologize for any inconvenience on our part. To help resolve any issue please email us at info@humat.org with your name and a brief description of the problem you are encountering when visiting on our website.  

What if my organization has already been claimed
If your organization has been claimed by a non-authorized person, please email us on the Contact page.

Include:

  1. Name of Organization
  2. Address of Organization
  3. EIN
  4. Your position in the Organization
  5. Any information you may have for other claiming authorization of the same organization.
I want to start my own organizations, how and where do i begin?

To start your own Humanitarian organization follow these steps as guidance (but not limited to):

  1. Start by developing your vision and mission. A vision is an inspiration and aspirational destination on the horizon. …
  2. Next you need a name.
  3. Differentiate your charity. …
  4. Write a plan. …
  5. Register as a 501(c)(3). .
  6. Start your website.
  7. Fundraising.
  8. Establish an Advisory Board.
  9. Begin Operations
  10. Keep your spending efficient
  11. Be Patient

How do i suggest a humanitarian organization?
  • If you have an organization you wish to suggest, please fill out the contact form on our “Contact Us” page.
    • In the description state the name of the organization, and any other information you may already know about them such as: address, government assigned number, and/or country of operation.
    • If the organization belongs to you please read our other step by step instructions on how to “claim my organization.”

Note: If the organization operates outside of the United States or If it was registered recently from a country we do not yet have live, we may be able to manually add it before the next update.

What if a hotline number is not correct or does not work?
  • If several or one of our hotline’s information (number, description, etc.) is not accurate please feel free to visit our “Contact us” page located at the top right hand corner of the screen.
    • State the Category and hotline Title(s) that contain any inaccurate information.
  • Once your email is sent we will respond, within a timely fashion, once the problem has been fixed.
Where can I find information on how to prepare for a natural disaster?
If you wish to find information on how to stay prepared in the case of a natural disaster (Hurricane, Tornado, etc.) you can find such information on our “EDUCATION” > “Be Prepared” page here: https://education.humat.org/be-prepared . There you will find steps that can be taken to prepare for a specific disaster and also what to do during and after such cases.

To get to this page: 

  1. Click the “EDUCATION” button at the top of the home page
  2. Once you are redirected to the Education page hover over the “EDUCATION” button and click the “Be Prepared” button (this can be done from anywhere on the site except the home page)
  3. In the Be Prepared page you will find a list of natural disasters that you can prepare for and learn more about.
What if i have an idea or suggestion for your website?
  • If you have any suggestions or comments please email us at info@humat.org
    • In the Subject line include the word “suggestion” (this will help us get back to you in a timely manner)
    • State your name and/or Organization Name in the email with your positive suggestions and feedback
Can i donate to Humat?

How do i donate to an organization on your website?
  1. Select your desired organization (top 40 are provided on our home page)
  2. Click any where on the image of the organization and you will be redirected to a page with more information about the organization
  3. Click on the blue link using CTRL +V to open up an new tab with the organization’s website
  4. There you will find a “DONATE” button that you will click and receive further instructions from their website on how to proceed.
