Age
  • Age discrimination in the workplace is the practice of letting a person’s age unfairly become a factor when deciding who receives a new job, promotion, or other job benefits.
Disability
  • Disability discrimination is when a person with a disability is treated less favourably than a person without the disability in the same or similar circumstances.
Employment
  • Discrimination occurs when a member of a protected class (women and minorities, for example) is treated differently than her peers.
Gender

Gender inequality refers to unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals wholly or partly due to their gender. It arises from differences in gender roles. Gender systems are often dichotomous and hierarchical.

race

Racial discrimination is when a person is treated less favourably than another person in a similar situation because of their race, color, descent, national or ethnic origin or immigrant status.

political

It is against the law to discriminate against anyone in the workplace because of their actual or assumed political beliefs or activities. Employees are protected from discrimination at all stages of employment including recruitment, workplace terms and conditions and dismissal.

association

Discrimination by association” refers to a situation where an individual is discriminated against through their association with another person.
